Updating the Program

Updating your program is a four step process. Please follow the directions below.

Download The Latest Files

From your Member Guardian account, download the most recent program files. Extract the files to your local computer.

Backup Files

Within the "/members/" folder, create a folder named "_backup". Move all of the files and folders within the "/members/" folder, except the following:

  • /admin/
  • /sessions/

Now within the "/members/admin/" folder, create a folder named "_backup". Move all of the files and folders within the "/members/admin/" directory, except the following:

  • /attachments/
  • /imports/
  • /system/

Upload the Newest Files

Upload the most recent program files and folders into the "/members/" and "/members/admin/" folders. Perform the uploads separately to avoid overwriting the existing files and folders in those directories (the ones we didn't backup previously).

Set permissions on all of the files and folders described in the installation guide article.

Run The Updater

From your web browser, run the program updater:

  • http://www.yoursite.com/members/admin/updater.php
